Any child may at some time have health care needs requiring the administration of medication: for many this will be of short duration. Whilst it is preferable for medication to be taken at home, it is recognised that for some children this is not appropriate. Parent/carers should assist by asking the prescribing medical practitioner if the administration can, whenever possible, occur outside the time where the child is in school. If your child does require medication in school please mark the medication clearly with your child’s name and bring to the school office where you will be given the relevant forms to complete.
Medication must NOT be given to your child to bring to school.
Prescribed medication should only be taken in school when it is essential and where not to do so would be detrimental to a child’s health.
