Barrowcliff School - Newletter

January 2012 - Spring Term 1

Dear Reader,

I hope you all had an excellent Christmas and New Year and that 2012 is a good year for you.

Parking
Can we remind all parents to park sensibly and considerately when dropping off or collecting children from school.

Please avoid parking in front of drives or garages.

Obviously the safety of the children outside the school premises is of paramount importance to us and we would appreciate your co-operation to ensure that Health & Safety aspects are observed at all times.

Credit Union (Savings Bank)
All children and adults
who use our school can take advantage of our school bank, which is run by the Credit Union (supported by North Yorkshire County Council).

The bank pays an interest rate of 3% – there are no catches.

You can deposit money in the bank every Tuesday between  8.30 am – 9.15 am by going to the school’s main
entrance, where you will be welcomed by our Y5 volunteers and the adults who supervise the operation.

You can also check on your money on-line.

Casual Clothes
School closes for half term 3.15 pm on Friday 10th February. Casual clothes can be worn for a mere 30p.
School opens as usual on Monday 20th February.

Sport
We will keep you informed regarding After School sport clubs.

Spare School Uniform
If you have any unwanted boys’ school trousers we would be grateful if you could donate them for use in school.

PE Kit
Can you please ensure that your child has games/PE kit at the beginning of each week?

Winter Clothing
Can you please ensure that your child/children come to school suitably dressed in warm coats, hats and gloves.
We are aware that the weather is unseasonably mild at the moment but we all know that it could change very quickly. We therefore need to know that the children are suitably dressed for playing outside at breaktimes.

Headlice
Information for treating headlice is available from the School Nurse at Northway Clinic. You can either contact Northway Clinic direct or speak to someone in the school office.

Briercliffe Children’s Centre
Please find attached details of the activities available at the Briercliffe Children’s Centre.
