Free School Meals

If you think your family may be entitled to Free School Meals, you can apply online by clicking here

This is the quickest and easiest way to check your eligibility.  North Yorkshire Council will inform us directly if you are entitled, so you don't need to do anything.

Alternatively, you can complete a paper form at the school office and this will be sent to North Yorkshire Council on your behalf.  This takes a while longer.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium – Eligibility

From September 2026, all children in England whose parent or carer receives Universal Credit will be entitled to free school meals, regardless of household earnings.  Parents/carers must register online for free school meals, this is not automatic.

Families who register for free school meals may also be eligible for FEAST (Food, Entertainment, Arts and Sports Together) holiday vouchers and activities during school holidays. FEAST provides children and young people with access to a wide range of free holiday clubs, healthy meals, sports, creative activities and enriching experiences, helping them stay active, social and engaged outside of term time. Eligibility for FEAST is linked to free school meal registration, so it is important to apply even if your child already receives universal infant free school meals.

Registering for free school meals can also help your child’s school access additional funding to support learning and wellbeing.
