Hi, I am Mr Danby and I am a teacher in year 6 and subject leader for PE and sports. It is my job to oversee the PE curriculum and any extra curricular activities such as fixtures and sports clubs.

I love PE and many different sports, and even play some sports myself during my spare time. My favourites are football, cricket and golf! I also love getting out and about and exercising regularly with my family and friends.

At Barrowcliff, P.E. is viewed as an essential part of children’s development to becoming a well-rounded individual. Here, all children are given the opportunity to take part in P.E and Sport, where they are consistently challenged and supported to achieve their potential. We are committed to promoting P.E and Sport as part of a healthy and rewarding lifestyle.

P.E is taught through the ‘Real PE’ scheme of work, which gives EVERY child the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills to achieve in PE, Sport and life. Through this approach, children will learn new skills that will benefit their overall development.

School PE kit

Our summer and indoor School PE kit is; a white t-shirt (or polo shirt) with black shorts, and trainers or indoor plimsolls.

For outside PE lessons during the winter months, children will need sport appropriate tracksuit bottoms, hoodie/tracksuit top, and trainers.
