Keep up to date with events happening in school!
Thank you for all your positive feedback and comments on our free school meal hampers. These have been a great success and we're very grateful for your patience while we distributed these to you, and for the support you have given us on social media. The staff have worked extremely hard and we are all very appreciative.
Following the government update, we will be moving to the national voucher scheme from week beginning 1st February. Please keep reading to see when and how you'll get your vouchers....
If you provided us with an email address on the recent survey we sent to you by text message, your voucher code will be emailed to you to redeem. You should receive an email directly from Edenred with your first voucher code on or shortly after Friday 29th January, and then weekly thereafter. You will be able to choose which supermarket you would like your voucher for each week.
If you have not provided us with an email address, or have contacted us to request a paper voucher, this will be posted to you on Friday 29th January. Paper vouchers will be for Aldi unless you have already contacted us to request a different supermarket. Please let us know if you'd like to change your supermarket at any point (vouchers for week beginning 1st February can no longer be changed).
If you haven't done the survey and haven't contacted us, don't worry - you'll still get a voucher. Your voucher will be for Aldi and arrive by post. You can contact us at any time to change how you receive it and which supermarket you'd like.
Please note vouchers are only available to children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Children who are still coming to school and getting a school meal each day will not receive a voucher.
If your child is attending school part-time, you will be sent a voucher for the number of days your child is not in school.
Half Term Vouchers
We have just received confirmation that North Yorkshire County Council will once again be funding vouchers during the half term holiday. This uses a different scheme to the national voucher scheme. Further details will be sent out when we know more.
Breakfast Hampers
As we will no longer be delivering food hampers, we have teamed up with Magic Breakfast to once again offer delivery of breakfast hampers via Amazon. If you previously registered for the Christmas one-off delivery, we have been able to automatically re-register you to receive a breakfast hamper every fortnight. If you didn't sign up for the Christmas delivery but would like to register, please contact the office and we will send you a form to complete.
Thank you for all the positive feedback we've received about the Hampers our catering staff put together for our families entitled to free school meals.
The next round of deliveries will take place on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd January, covering the 2 weeks commencing 18th and 25th January.
From 1st February we plan to move to the National Voucher Scheme. A text message will be sent this week to all parents of children entitled to free school meals with a short survey to fill in. Please complete the survey as soon as you possibly can.
If your child is on the SEND register and has a support plan, then please contact Mrs Marshall and she will provide a personalised resource pack to use at home.
An example pack is shown in the photo below.
To help children access their home learning online, mobile phone companies are now offering free data increases to children who meet the following 3 criteria:
If you have access to a mobile phone on one of the following networks, you might be able to benefit:
Please telephone or email the office. For each request, we need to know:
The Mobile Network Offer is run by the Department for Education (DfE). Their privacy policy is available to view here.
We will be distributing food hampers to all our children entitled to free school meals who are not currently attending school. This is in line with government guidance received by school this week.
Hampers will be delivered to families on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th, and Monday 11th January. Please bear with us as we have a lot of households to cover. Deliveries will then be fortnightly thereafter. Each hamper contains enough food for 2 weeks per child and will include a variety of produce such as bread, ham, cheese, fruit, vegetables, pasta, yogurt and much more. An example food hamper is shown below.
These arrangements are subject to current government guidance. We will keep you informed of any changes as soon as we are made aware of them.
Following the Government's announcement this evening, school will move to remote learning starting tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January. Please only send your child to school if:
* you are a critical worker
* you are working with a social worker
* your child has an EHCP.
Please note that the critical worker list was updated on 31st December. If you are unsure whether you are a critical worker, please click here to access the government list, or telephone the school tomorrow for advice and guidance.
Apologies for the late notice, however as I have often told many of you, we find this information out at the same time as you.
Learning activities are already available on our website as they were already posted for those in self-isolation. These can be accessed here.
Stay safe, and we will send further information to you in the following days.
