We visited Danby Moors Education Centre. Pupils were taught how to use a compass and practised using it in the grounds of Danby's Centre. They were taught to read a map and use grid references. They used GPS to have a go at geocaching.
We have designed and made a moving fairground ride which used a pulley system and a simple circuit with a motor.
The children worked in pairs to solve a range of Christmas-themed Maths problems. The winning teams, both with 53 points, were Kyron and William, and Cody and Aidan.
Winners chosen by the Year 6 adults for showing perseverance and working well as a team were: Faith and Nicola, and Dylan and Oliver.
Year 6 took part in a workshop with the SJT focussing on poetry, creative writing and drama based around the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
In Science, we have been learning how mirrors reflect light, and how they can help us see objects. We made periscopes to demonstrate this and learned about how they work.
