Our Reading Curriculum
Reading is our top priority here at Barrowcliff School. Our curriculum is structured around core texts which change every half term and allow us to explore our topics through high quality literature.
We start to learn to read in EYFS through our Read Write Inc programme. This continues into Key Stage 1 as we start to crack the phonics code and develop fluency as independent readers. In Key Stage 2 we have Whole Class Reading sessions which teach our children a range of skills such as fluency, expression and comprehension.
