IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Due to the continued heavy snowfall and forecast temperatures still below freezing, school will be closed to all pupils tomorrow (Tuesday 6th January).

Snow fell heavily yesterday, with further snowfall today, and temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing tomorrow. This means icy conditions are likely to remain throughout the day.

This decision has been made following a thorough risk assessment considering:

• Site safety – including access routes, paths and outdoor areas that cannot be made safe in prolonged freezing conditions
• Travel safety – for pupils, families and staff, with untreated roads and pavements expected to remain icy
• Staffing levels – ensuring safe supervision and safeguarding can be maintained
• Emergency access – the ability for emergency services to access the site if required, and for children and staff to be able to exit the building quickly and safely if required.

While we are aware that many local schools are also closing, each school must make decisions based on its own site, staffing and local conditions.

Despite preparation and gritting, we cannot guarantee the safety of pupils and staff, and safety must remain our priority.

We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please do not travel to school, as the site will be closed.
