❄️ SCHOOL CLOSED TODAY - Wednesday 7th January ❄️
Due to widespread black ice, school is closed to all pupils today.
Pavements and side roads are extremely hazardous, and conditions remain unsafe for both pedestrians and vehicles. Despite checks and preparation on site, travel to and from school cannot be made safe, and the risk of slips, falls and accidents is unacceptably high.
This decision has been made following a risk assessment that considered:
• Travel safety for pupils, families and staff
• Icy pavements and untreated side roads in the local area
• Staffing and safeguarding requirements
• Emergency access to the site if required
Safety must always come first. We appreciate that this may cause inconvenience, but we cannot ask families or staff to travel in conditions that present a clear risk of injury.
Please do not travel to school today, as the site will be closed.
